In a statement issued on Monday March 07, Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi as the new Custodian of Astan Quds Razavi in Mashhad.
The Leader appreciated years of sincere and successful efforts in the service of the holy shrine of Imam Reza on the part of late Ayatollah Vaez Tabasi who passed away on Friday, March 4.
Ayatollah Khamenei further deemed Hojjatoleslam Raeisi as a capable, honest person who possesses valuable experiences in macro management.
In his statement, Ayatollah Khamenei provided the new custodian with several guidelines encouraging him to put provision of service to the pilgrims of the Holy Shrine high on agenda with particular attention to the people in need and the oppressed.
“Astan Quds Razavi offers huge cultural capacity which can impact both the country and the Muslim world,” highlighted the Leader urging cultural experts to take advantage of the rare capacity to promote Quranic teachings.
The Leader further noted that “spaces and monuments of Astan Quds mark a unique treasure of Islamic architecture as well as scientific and artistic delicacies of the nation which need to be protected and maintained with great caution.”
